Synopsis
Gaetano Donizetti's classic opera focuses on the complex relationship between Queen Elisabetta (Laura Polverelli) and Maria Stuarda (Maria Pia Piscitelli), two cousins who both desire the love and exclusive attentions of the handsome conte di Leicester (Roberto De Biasio). Filmed at the Sferisterio Opera Festival in Italy, this magnificent stage production also stars Giovanna Lanza, Simone Alberghini and Mario Cassi.
