Scott Hanson was one of probably just a dozen babies born to mothers in Soldier, Iowa in 1961. The city leaders, staring down the double barrel of Scott's intellect and talent, quickly realized his educational requirements would demand the cooperation of neighboring Moorhead, Iowa.
