​From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.   Dariush Mehrju'i ( born 8 December 1939 in Tehran), also spelled as Mehrjui, Mehrjoui, and Mehrjuyi, is an Iranian director, screenwriter, producer, and film editor. As an Iranian New Wave cinema icon, Mehrjui is regarded to be one of the intellectual directors of Iranian cinema.
